Not every shot is worth the same

Walter Murch ranked what a cut has to honour, and each item outweighs everything below it combined: emotion 51, story 23, rhythm 10, eye-trace 7, 2D plane 5, 3D space 4. So a shot that nails screen direction and spatial geometry and misses the emotion is not two-thirds of the way there — it scores nine. A list of ticks and crosses hides that. A number does not.
